International Research Conference on Information Technology Education (IRCITE) 2026

 I. Details of the event/activity

The International Research Conference on Information Technology Education (IRCITE) 2026 was conducted on March 19, 2026, at Bulacan State University – Main Campus, Malolos, Bulacan. The conference brought together students, educators, researchers, and IT professionals to exchange ideas and showcase innovations related to information technology and research. The event also featured different academic activities and competitions that encouraged creativity, collaboration, and technological advancement. During the conference, I joined the Poster Presentation category and presented our capstone project entitled “LASC DataGuard: A Web-Based Student Information and Records Management System.” The presentation focused on the system’s purpose, features, and how it helps improve the management of student records through digitalization. We also answered questions and received feedback from the panelists regarding the system’s functionality and possible improvements.

II. Reflections on the webinar/activity give rise to (learnings)

Participating in the conference gave me valuable experience in presenting a research project in front of professionals and fellow students. I learned that confidence and preparation are important when discussing a system, especially when answering questions from evaluators. Although I felt nervous at first, the experience helped me become more comfortable in explaining our project and presenting technical concepts clearly. I also gained new knowledge from the other research presentations during the event. Seeing different innovative systems and studies inspired me to think more creatively and understand how technology can be used to solve various real-world problems. The conference also strengthened my appreciation for research and continuous learning in the IT field.

III. Reflections on possibilities on implementing some of the webinar input on a practical level (practical application of learnings)

The learnings and experiences from the conference can help me improve my communication, presentation, and critical-thinking skills in future projects and activities. The comments and suggestions from the panelists gave me ideas on how the system can still be enhanced and made more effective for users. I can apply these learnings by continuing to improve our project and developing more systems that provide practical solutions to organizational and community problems. This experience also encouraged me to become more confident when presenting ideas and collaborating with other people in future academic or professional settings.

IV. Positive feedback (on the event organization)

The event was properly organized, and the flow of activities was smooth and manageable. The organizers ensured that participants were guided well throughout the conference, which created a comfortable environment for presenters and attendees. The panelists and facilitators were approachable and professional, making the experience more enjoyable and less stressful. It was also inspiring to see different research projects and innovations from various schools. The conference successfully created an atmosphere that encouraged learning, creativity, and the sharing of ideas among participants.

V. Suggestions for improvements to be made/consider for future activities

For future conferences, it would be beneficial to allocate more time for participants to view and interact with other research presentations. Additional networking or consultation sessions with professionals and panelists could also help students gain more insights and guidance regarding their projects. Providing digital access to conference materials or presentation summaries after the event would also be helpful for participants who want to review and continue learning from the discussions and research presented during the conference.
